美国全国卫生基金会（National Sanitation Foundation，NSF）成立于1944年，是一个独立的，不以营利为目的的非政府组织。NSF专致于公共卫生、安全、环境保护领域的标准制订、产品测试和认证服务工作，是公共卫生与安全领域的权威机构。
多年来，不仅在管理体系和产品认证方面声名卓著，而且在公共健康、安全和环境保护等一些专业领域，独立起草或参与制定出多项被广泛采用的产品标准以及认证方案。
美国国家认可委员会（ANAB），根据美国标准，授权实施认证，并认可所有 NSF 的认证方案；
NSF 总部设在密西根州安娜堡市，拥有多个独立实验室，可进行物理性能和功能测试，化学分析，毒理学分析以及微生物试验；此外，NSF 还拥有一批专业技术人员，包括工程师、化学家、毒理学家、卫生保健专家和计算机专家，具有相关的经验和专业背景。
1996年，世界卫生组织（WHO）指定 NSF International 为用水安全与处理合作中心以及食品安全、室内环境健康合作中心。这种信任和赞誉是对 NSF 专业能力和技术服务的肯定。
